These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern the purchase of memberships, subscriptions and services provided by The Situation Room (“The Situation Room”, “TSR”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

By registering for an account, purchasing a subscription, accessing a paid membership or otherwise using our services, you agree to these Terms.

Please read these Terms carefully before purchasing a subscription.

The Situation Room is an independent digital intelligence and situational-awareness platform providing access to features which may include:

  • global intelligence and news information;

  • geopolitical analysis;

  • interactive global mapping;

  • incident and event tracking;

  • live and publicly available feeds;

  • CCTV and webcam feeds;

  • open-source intelligence (“OSINT”);

  • intelligence dashboards;

  • strategic analysis;

  • S.I.A. – Strategic Intelligence Assistant;

  • alerts and intelligence updates;

  • data visualisation; and

  • other intelligence-related tools and services.

The exact features available may change as The Situation Room develops.

The Situation Room is an independent commercial platform.

We are not a government department, military organisation, intelligence agency, law-enforcement agency or emergency service.

Membership & Accounts

2. Creating an Account

You may be required to create an account to access The Situation Room.

When registering, you agree to provide accurate, complete and current information.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your username, email address, password and other account credentials.

You are responsible for all activity carried out through your account unless the activity resulted directly from circumstances for which we are legally responsible.

You should notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorisation.

3. Personal Membership

Unless expressly stated otherwise, a standard membership is provided for the personal use of the registered account holder.

Your membership must not be:

  • shared with other individuals;

  • transferred to another person;

  • resold;

  • sublicensed;

  • commercially redistributed; or

  • used to provide unauthorised third-party access to The Situation Room.

Businesses, organisations or teams requiring access for multiple users may need separate accounts or an appropriate commercial arrangement.

4. Account Sharing

Sharing login credentials with people who are not authorised to use your membership is prohibited.

We may use reasonable technical measures to identify suspected account sharing, including login activity, concurrent sessions and other security information.

Where we reasonably believe an account is being shared or otherwise misused, we may require additional verification, terminate active sessions or temporarily restrict access while the matter is investigated.

Repeated or deliberate abuse may result in suspension or termination.

Subscriptions & Payments

5. Subscription Plans

The Situation Room may offer monthly, annual, promotional, trial or other subscription options.

The price, billing frequency and principal features of your subscription will be displayed before you complete your purchase.

The subscription terms presented during checkout form part of these Terms.

6. Subscription Charges

By purchasing a paid subscription, you authorise us and our payment provider to charge the payment method selected during checkout for the applicable subscription fee.

Any applicable taxes or other mandatory charges will be displayed or applied as required.

You are responsible for ensuring your payment information remains accurate and valid.

7. Recurring Subscriptions

Where you purchase a recurring subscription, your membership will automatically renew at the applicable billing interval unless you cancel it before the next renewal date.

For example, a monthly membership will normally renew each month, while an annual membership will normally renew each year.

By purchasing a recurring subscription, you authorise recurring payments until the subscription is cancelled.

8. Failed Payments

If a subscription payment fails, we may attempt to process the payment again in accordance with our payment provider’s procedures.

Access to paid features may be temporarily restricted or suspended where payment remains outstanding.

If payment cannot be collected, your subscription may be cancelled.

9. Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices.

Price changes will not normally retrospectively alter a subscription period that has already been paid for.

Where a price change affects the renewal price of an existing subscription, we will provide notice where required by applicable law.

You may cancel your subscription before the new price takes effect if you do not wish to continue at the revised price.

10. Promotions and Special Offers

From time to time, The Situation Room may offer:

  • introductory prices;

  • promotional subscriptions;

  • free trials;

  • discounted memberships;

  • promotional codes; or

  • other special offers.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, promotional offers:

  • are subject to availability;

  • may be withdrawn or amended;

  • cannot be exchanged for cash;

  • cannot normally be combined with another promotion; and

  • may be restricted to new customers or particular users.

The specific conditions presented with a promotion will apply in addition to these Terms.

Cancellation & Refunds

11. Cancelling Your Subscription

You may cancel a recurring subscription using the cancellation facilities provided through your membership account or by contacting us where applicable.

Cancellation prevents subsequent renewals.

Unless otherwise stated, cancelling a subscription does not immediately terminate access that has already been paid for.

You will normally retain access until the end of your current paid billing period.

12. Refunds

Payments already made are generally non-refundable once the relevant paid subscription period has commenced, except where:

  • we expressly offer a refund;

  • there has been a billing error;

  • we are legally required to provide a refund; or

  • applicable consumer law gives you a right to reimbursement.

Nothing in these Terms limits any statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

13. Digital Content and Immediate Access

The Situation Room is predominantly a digital service.

Where permitted by applicable consumer law, you may be asked during checkout to request immediate access to digital content or services before the expiry of any statutory cancellation period.

Where applicable, commencing immediate supply of digital content may affect your statutory cancellation rights.

Any mandatory consumer rights available to you under applicable law remain unaffected.

Access to The Situation Room

14. Membership Access

A valid active membership provides access to the features included within the applicable subscription.

Access may depend upon:

  • successful payment;

  • an active membership;

  • successful authentication;

  • compliance with these Terms;

  • compliance with our Terms of Use; and

  • availability of the Service.

Purchasing a subscription does not transfer ownership of any part of The Situation Room to you.

You receive a limited right to access the applicable services for the duration of your qualifying membership.

15. Access Following Cancellation

Where a subscription is cancelled, access will normally continue until the end of the paid subscription period.

After that period expires, access to membership-restricted services may automatically terminate.

Any information, preferences or other account data retained following cancellation will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law.

Platform Services

16. Nature of the Service

The Situation Room provides an information, intelligence, analysis and situational-awareness platform.

Information available through the platform may originate from or incorporate information from third parties.

Sources may include news organisations, government publications, public databases, mapping services, public CCTV, webcams, social media, open-source intelligence, APIs and other publicly available information.

Information displayed within The Situation Room should not automatically be interpreted as independently verified information.

17. S.I.A. – Strategic Intelligence Assistant

Membership may include access to S.I.A. – Strategic Intelligence Assistant.

S.I.A. uses artificial intelligence and automated technologies to provide intelligence-related information, research and analysis.

Artificial intelligence systems can produce inaccurate, incomplete or misleading information.

S.I.A. output must therefore not be considered verified intelligence, professional advice or an official assessment.

Users remain responsible for independently verifying important information.

We may introduce reasonable limits on S.I.A. usage to protect the Service against abuse, excessive automated usage or unreasonable consumption of resources.

18. Live Feeds and CCTV

The Situation Room may provide access to third-party live streams, CCTV, webcams, broadcasts and similar content.

Unless specifically stated otherwise, these feeds are not owned or controlled by The Situation Room.

We therefore cannot guarantee:

  • continuous availability;

  • picture quality;

  • accuracy;

  • transmission delay;

  • location accuracy;

  • operating hours; or

  • continued availability of any particular feed.

A third-party provider may alter or discontinue a feed without notice.

19. Maps and Tracking Information

Interactive maps and associated intelligence markers are provided for informational and situational-awareness purposes.

Map locations may be approximate.

Events may be displayed based upon publicly available reports, third-party information, automated processing or other sources.

The presence of an event on a map does not constitute independent confirmation that the event occurred precisely at the displayed location.

The platform must not be used as a substitute for official navigation, emergency or security information.

Availability & Changes

20. Service Availability

We aim to provide reliable access to The Situation Room but cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation.

The Service may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, updates, technical problems, internet failures, hosting problems, third-party outages, cyber incidents or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Temporary interruption of the Service does not automatically entitle a member to compensation or a refund, except where required by law.

21. Platform Development

The Situation Room is an evolving digital platform.

Features may therefore be introduced, updated, redesigned, replaced or removed.

We may change:

  • platform design;

  • dashboards;

  • maps;

  • intelligence categories;

  • information sources;

  • feeds;

  • S.I.A. functionality;

  • AI models;

  • alert systems;

  • data providers;

  • membership features; and

  • other platform functionality.

A subscription does not guarantee permanent access to any individual feature, source, camera, feed or third-party service.

22. Third-Party Dependencies

Some features depend upon external service providers.

These may include:

  • hosting providers;

  • payment processors;

  • mapping services;

  • artificial intelligence providers;

  • news organisations;

  • video platforms;

  • public data providers;

  • APIs; and

  • other technology providers.

Changes made by these providers may affect functionality available through The Situation Room.

We are not responsible for circumstances outside our reasonable control involving third-party providers.

Acceptable Membership Use

23. Prohibited Activities

Members must not:

  • share accounts without authorisation;

  • resell access;

  • systematically scrape platform data;

  • copy substantial parts of our database;

  • attempt to circumvent membership controls;

  • attempt to bypass authentication;

  • interfere with platform security;

  • reverse engineer protected software;

  • deliberately overload our infrastructure;

  • use automated systems without authorisation;

  • introduce malicious software;

  • exploit vulnerabilities;

  • unlawfully collect information about other users; or

  • use the Service for unlawful purposes.

24. Automated Access

Unless expressly authorised by us in writing, membership does not include permission to use bots, crawlers, automated extraction software or similar technology to systematically collect information from The Situation Room.

Normal indexing by legitimate search engines of publicly accessible portions of our website may be permitted.

Intellectual Property

25. Ownership

The Situation Room’s proprietary technology and original materials remain our property or that of our licensors.

This may include:

  • The Situation Room branding;

  • logos;

  • interface designs;

  • original graphics;

  • software;

  • proprietary databases;

  • original written analysis;

  • dashboard designs;

  • platform functionality; and

  • other original intellectual property.

Third-party material remains the property of its respective owner.

26. Membership Licence

During an active qualifying membership, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to access The Situation Room for its intended purposes.

This does not grant you ownership of our platform, software, databases or intellectual property.

Suspension & Termination

27. Suspension of Accounts

We may temporarily suspend or restrict an account where reasonably necessary because of:

  • suspected fraud;

  • account sharing;

  • security concerns;

  • attempted unauthorised access;

  • payment problems;

  • abuse of the Service;

  • suspected unlawful activity; or

  • material breach of these Terms.

Where appropriate, we may contact you to resolve the issue.

28. Termination for Serious Breach

We reserve the right to terminate a membership for serious or repeated breaches of these Terms or our Terms of Use.

Where termination results from deliberate misuse, fraud, unlawful activity or serious abuse, a refund may not be provided except where legally required.

Liability & Disclaimers

29. Information Accuracy

We make reasonable efforts to provide useful information, but we cannot guarantee that all information is accurate, complete, current or independently verified.

This is particularly important during rapidly developing events.

Users should independently verify important information before relying upon it.

30. No Guarantee of Outcomes

Subscription to The Situation Room does not guarantee any particular result, intelligence advantage, financial outcome, security outcome or other benefit.

The value obtained from the platform will depend upon how individual users access, interpret and use the available information.

31. Limitation of Liability

Nothing within these Terms excludes or limits liability where exclusion or limitation would be unlawful.

Subject to applicable law, we shall not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses resulting from the use of or inability to use The Situation Room.

We are not responsible for decisions made solely in reliance upon information, analysis, AI output, maps, feeds or third-party information provided through the platform.

32. User Responsibility

You are responsible for determining whether information provided through The Situation Room is appropriate for your intended purpose.

The platform must not be relied upon as a substitute for professional, government, emergency, security, legal, financial, medical or other specialist advice.

Privacy & Data

33. Personal Information

Personal information associated with membership accounts will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection legislation.

This may include information necessary to:

  • create and maintain accounts;

  • authenticate users;

  • process subscriptions;

  • provide customer support;

  • secure the platform;

  • prevent fraud and abuse; and

  • operate the Service.

34. Payment Information

Payments may be processed through an authorised third-party payment provider.

Payment information handled directly by the payment provider will also be subject to that provider’s applicable terms and privacy practices.

General Provisions

35. Changes to These Terms

We may amend these Terms periodically.

Changes may be necessary because of changes to:

  • legislation;

  • the platform;

  • subscription arrangements;

  • technology;

  • third-party services; or

  • our business operations.

The latest version will be published on our website together with the date it was last updated.

Where legally required, we will provide appropriate notice of material changes.

36. Transfer of the Service

We may transfer our rights or obligations relating to The Situation Room as part of a legitimate corporate restructuring, acquisition, sale or transfer of the business, provided that your statutory rights are not adversely affected contrary to applicable law.

You may not transfer your membership to another person without our permission.

37. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue to apply.

38. No Waiver

Failure to enforce a provision of these Terms does not mean that we have waived our right to enforce that provision in the future.

39. Entire Agreement

These Terms should be read together with our:

Terms of Use
Privacy Policy
Cookie Policy

Together, these documents govern your relationship with The Situation Room and your use of the Service.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply based upon your country of residence.

Nothing in these Terms removes any statutory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.

41. Jurisdiction

Subject to applicable consumer law, disputes relating to these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Consumers may also have rights to bring proceedings within the jurisdiction in which they live where applicable law provides such rights.
